 It does the job but it's slow! March 5, 2010

Bought this as I had Norton 2009. I'm sure it protects my computer but at a cost, my computer is now extremely slow at times. I believe this has something to do with the 'background tasks', though if you are more technical I'm sure you can turn this feature off!

A great product. Simple to install and use. Using Norton gives me the confidence that my on-line work is very secure. Works away quite happily in the background without altering any work being done. I'd recommend this security software to anyone.

Having used the 2009 version of this software, on the face of it, I couldn't see that many changes made to the 2010 version. The interface is similar, letting you take as much (or as little) control of fine tuning the security options, and very easy to use.
It took me around 3 or 4 minutes to install NIS 2010, and about 5 minutes to download and install all the updates. Norton doesn't seem to take many system resources either, seeming to take only 3 Mb of RAM, according to the task manager. It includes Antivirus, Antispyware, firewall, intrusion prevention, email scanning as well as Identity Safe and Antiphishing software.
Another useful feature is the safe searching and safe shopping info that NIS provides. When using google, a little tick, cross or grey circle appears next to each result indicating if the link can be trusted, not trusted, or in the case of the grey circle where Norton has no information on the link (that is to say, "browse if you trust the link"). Norton also helps block any pages that may be infected or phishing websites - when you click on a suspicious link, Norton will take you to a page that informs you that the web page may be untrustworthy; it gives you the option to ignore the warning, or go back to the page you came from.
All in all, for a 3 PC licence, this is a brilliant value for money security package, which won't slow down your PC or Laptop, and will keep you safe.

I had Mcafee for two years and in that time it cost me a lot of time and money getting rid of viruses
that it had let through.
I bought Norton on advice from friends and i think it is money well worth spending.
I am now on my second year with Norton and i have not had any worries what so ever.
I recommend Norton to all my friends and they are as pleased with it as i am.
